COLLAB ME/AI
Installation
The exhibition consists of three interconnected video installations. Their images result from the synchronous execution of three different programming codes, each processed by an independent computational system. The first installation captures external sounds from the exhibition space and transforms variations in frequency and sound intensity into images, based on algorithmic rules defined in the program. This image is composed of black and white dots that cluster together to form shapes reminiscent of mountains and stone peaks.
The second installation uses a camera to capture the image produced in the previous stage and translates it into a code based on sound pulses. The third installation receives and interprets these telegraphed sounds in an attempt to reconstruct the original image. Meanwhile, the ambient sounds and the audio signals emitted throughout the process begin to blend, creating a continuous feedback loop. In this way, the machines begin to exchange information and establish a certain degree of control over one another.
