 VIGILANCE

Book

"Vigilance" begins by portraying the daily life of an unambitious individual who seeks only to ease the tedium of his routine. At first glance, the narrative appears to be primarily centered on this single character’s experiences. Gradually, however, it reveals a broader context, situating the story within a historical moment and suggesting that individual fate reflects a collective misfortune in the face of a public health crisis. The fragmented structure—reminiscent of authors such as Joyce and Borges—mirrors the protagonist’s constant transformation in response to his desires and uncontrollable events. Beyond the themes related to the epidemic, the text also addresses contemporary issues such as information overload, misinformation, and the pursuit of spiritual solutions through a consumerist lens. Vigil underscores the fragility of cultural and governmental institutions under pressure, offering necessary reflections on urban society and its pressing concerns.
