Deaf Tongue is a publication linked to the exhibition of the 1st year of the Doctorate in Fine Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. Conceived and organized collectively, it is a first essay around a set of diverse artistic practices carried out in the context of individual doctoral projects.

The theme for the exhibition was the encounters and disconnections between the visual and the verbal, between the eye and the tongue, in a game where an attempt was made to bid farewell to language, while simultaneously confronting the challenges of linguistic incommunicability and the raw nature of pure gestures.
