DIGITAL MATRIX OBJECTS
Installation
“Digital Matrix Objects” is part of a series of works that relate the elements of fingerprints ("impressão digital," in Portuguese) and digital codes, creating approximations and highlighting contradictions between their concepts. In contrast to the other works in the series, these images transcend the flat surface, beginning with volumetric representations of objects, in another reference to digital technologies, which symbolically use three-dimensional simulation as a hallmark of their creative potential. The “Digital Matrix Objects” are composed of layers of transparent acrylic with fingerprints engraved on their surfaces. Each of these layers represents a cross-section of an object that only becomes recognizable through their accumulation.
